The Polinga Home:
Built with Heart, Guided by Wilcon

August 1, 2024

Lotte Hernandez’s (44) dream home in Sta. Maria, Bulacan looked very different a year ago. It was acquired as a retirement home for her and her sister Anne (48), who works in Perth, Australia. But a trusted interior stylist has transformed this home and reconstructed it from the inside and out to custom-fit and accommodate their entire family.

When Atty. Stacy Quinsay-Polinga and Atty. Julius Polinga speak about their home, one word comes up again and again: personal.

Built on a 250-sqm lot gifted by Stacy’s parents, their three-story, 500-sqm home stands as a testament to gratitude, partnership, and the joy of building something beautiful together. But beyond their own effort, the Polingas say there was one constant companion throughout the journey—Wilcon Depot.

“This property was given by my parents. Thank you to them,” Stacy begins, recalling how construction started in 2019. “For the finishing process, we gradually built it.” Bit by bit, layer after layer, the house took shape—through the couple’s choices, endless discussions, and countless visits to Wilcon Depot, which became not just a store but a guide in shaping their dream.

Julius adds, “The finishing part is where our personal touches shine as husband and wife. We visualized everything together—through a lot of canvassing, a lot of brainstorming. And we always found ourselves at Wilcon because everything we needed was there."

A Home Rooted in Family

Inside their 800-sqm family compound are three homes—similar in structure, but each reflecting its owners’ unique style. For the Polingas, the vision was clear: modern-contemporary, timeless, warm, and fresh.

Julius recalls the early days of planning.“We wanted something modern and contemporary that won’t go out of style,” Stacy explains. Clean lines, light walls, wood accents, and grounding tones of green all became part of the look.

“We were set on wood-look textures—vibrant, fresh but cozy,” Julius recalls. “Then we added dark green accents and touches of gold to balance everything.”

The result is a home that feels grounded yet airy, a blend of youthful optimism and grown-up warmth.

The Wilcon Way: A True Partnership

With their design vision set, the couple turned to the place that became their anchor throughout the process: Wilcon Depot.

“And of course,” Julius shares, “our go-to was Wilcon Depot. The good thing about Wilcon is that everything you need to create a home is all in one place.”

At Wilcon, they found the exact materials that matched their vision—from bigger fixtures to the small finishing details that give a home its character.

  • P.Tech SPC flooring quickly became a favorite—durable, stylish, and perfectly aligned with their wood-look theme.
  • In their eight bathrooms, tiles from Saigres and Sol Ceramica, along with Pozzi lavatories, faucets, exposed shower sets, and water closets, brought in harmony and elegance.
  • For their kitchen and dirty kitchen, they relied entirely on Wilcon fixtures, from the faucet to the sink.
  • Their second-floor upgrade—SPC flooring paired with P.Tech baseboards and wall panels—became a subtle but striking improvement.

Stacy also mentions that there are many options at Wilcon: “tiles, fixtures, and everything.” With the variety of options, it was easy to assemble items that would look good together and bring what they were envisioning to life.

But more than the products, the Polingas valued Wilcon’s guidance.

“They help match what you choose,” Stacy shares. “Accent walls, flooring, wall tiles—they suggest combinations that make everything cohesive. They’ve been so helpful in the design process.”

Wilcon also helped them stay on budget without sacrificing quality. “What’s good about Wilcon is the Tile Calculator,” Julius explains. “You know exactly how many tiles you need in a room —so you don’t overspend. It’s a big help for young families like us.”

Every trip felt collaborative—a real partnership. The staff guided them on pairings, finishes, materials, and even helped avoid unnecessary purchases. For the Polingas, Wilcon became more than a supplier—they became co-builders

A Home Built With Heart

Each floor of their 500-sqm home tells a piece of their story.

On the ground floor, the two-car garage opens into a bright living room leading to Stacy’s favorite place—the kitchen. “I love to cook,” she says with a laugh. Everything in it—from the sink to the fixtures—was carefully handpicked from Wilcon.

A playroom, powder room, and maid’s room complete the floor.

The second floor hosts the master bedroom, their home office, and their son’s future bedroom—all dressed with Wilcon-chosen tiles, flooring, and fixtures that create a fresh, calming atmosphere.

On the third floor, a family lounge and additional bedrooms overlook the compound—a space designed for gatherings, future sleepovers, and moments yet to come.

The Challenges They Overcame-With Wilcon By Their Side

The finishing stage, the Polingas admit, was the hardest. They initially considered hiring an interior designer but found it too costly.

“So we just designed gradually on our own and got help from designer friends,” Stacy says. “And Wilcon’s in-store assistance played a big part. Their team helped match our choices—tiles, accent walls, flooring. Everything.”

They never felt limited, thanks to Wilcon’s wide range of price points.

A Reflection Of Who They Are

Every inch of the Polinga home reflects gratitude, togetherness, and thoughtful building.

“It’s personal because this is a gift from my parents,” Stacy says softly. “And inside,” Julius adds, “we see pieces of ourselves everywhere.”

From the neutral palette to the curated fixtures, from the modern layout to the warm lighting—every detail resonates with who they are.

“A continuous improvement,” Stacy describes. “Something that represents the two of us,” Julius finishes.
