HOW TO: Clean And Maintain Kaze Air Conditioner

It’s the last stretch of summer! That means your air conditioner has been working double time to keep your space clean and cool. Simple cleaning is all it takes to maintain your aircon in excellent condition for a longer life span.

By following this aircon cleaning guide from Wilcon Depot, you'll save money while efficiently keeping your space cool.

Here are some interior design ideas on how you can pull off these wood-like floor tiles:

What cleaning materials do you need?

Step-By-Step Cleaning Instructions:

Step 1: Turn off your aircon

For safety purposes, make sure to turn your air conditioning off. Unplug all the cords to the electrical unit before working on it.

Step 2: Read the instruction manual before removing the front cover

Always refer to your airconditioner's operation manual before removing anything. Opening your air conditioner's front panel will give you access to the air filters. While it's open, you can spot-clean a few nooks or surfaces. Most Kaze split- and window-type aircon front cover is screwed. When removed, clean the aircon cover with water and mild soap. Then, proceed to other aircon parts while letting the front cover dry.

Step 3: Remove the air filters from the air conditioning interior unit and deep clean it

Carefully remove the air filters and clean them together with the interior parts by hand-washing them with soapy water. You can also brush or vacuum the dust and dirt from the filter and other internal components.

Cleaning the vents and fan could require scrubbing and deep cleaning. Just remember to take extra caution around the condenser and wiring. The coils, compressor, blower, and other parts of your air conditioner should be cleaned periodically by an authorized dealer since it needs proper cleaning requirements.

Step 4: Allow everything to dry completely

Make sure to let the interior and exterior parts, like the condenser unit, air filter, and panels, dry thoroughly before turning them back on.

Step 5: Bring back the removed parts and close them securely

Bring back the removed parts properly to ensure optimal unit performance after cleaning. If there are damaged parts, replace them with authorized parts from an accredited dealer.

Air conditioner cleaning can take at least once a month. However, know when to call a professional air conditioner cleaner to deep clean, sanitize, and check the overall condition of your air con unit to maintain its efficiency.
